Buyer Terms
Tanoooki Buyer Terms
Last updated: September 5, 2026
These Buyer Terms apply whenever you purchase an item through Tanoooki, in addition to our general Terms of Use.
1. Placing an Order
When you click "Buy," you're making an offer to purchase the item at the listed price. The seller's listing — including price, condition, and shipping details — becomes part of your order once confirmed. Because many items on Tanoooki are one-of-one or limited quantity, purchases are handled on a first-come, first-served basis: completing checkout is what secures the item, not adding it to your cart or starting the process.
2. Payment
All payments are processed through Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the item price, shipping, and any applicable taxes. Funds are held and released to the seller according to our payout schedule, described in the Seller Terms.
3. Pricing and Taxes
Prices are set by individual sellers, not Tanoooki. Applicable sales tax will be calculated and shown at checkout where required. Because sellers are independent third parties, Tanoooki does not guarantee prices are error-free, but we'll work with you and the seller to resolve clear pricing mistakes.
4. Shipping
Sellers are responsible for shipping items as described in the listing, within the timeframe stated. For cross-border and other international orders, items may be subject to customs processing, duties, or import fees, which are the buyer's responsibility unless the listing states otherwise. Shipping is arranged through our supported carrier integrations; tracking information will be provided once available.
5. Returns, Refunds, and Item-Not-As-Described Claims
Every order is covered by a two-layer return policy:
- Platform baseline protection — if an item arrives significantly different from its listing (wrong item, undisclosed damage, counterfeit), you're covered regardless of the seller's chosen return policy.
- Seller's return policy — each seller selects a return policy during onboarding, and it's shown on the listing at time of purchase and locked in with your order. Sellers cannot change or override this policy on a per-listing basis.
To start a return, use the return process found in the order details within the timeframe allowed for the item's return policy. We'll help facilitate a resolution between you and the seller; where the baseline protection applies, we may refund you directly and separately pursue the matter with the seller.
6. Authenticity and Prohibited Items
Tanoooki prohibits counterfeit, bootleg, or unauthorized reproduction items — see our Prohibited Items Policy. If you believe you received a counterfeit item, report it immediately; this is treated as an item-not-as-described claim under Section 5 and may also result in enforcement action against the seller's account.
7. Buyer Conduct
You agree not to:
- Make a purchase with no intent to pay or complete the transaction.
- Pressure sellers into off-platform payment to avoid buyer protections and platform fees.
- Abuse the dispute or refund process in bad faith.
- Harass or threaten sellers.
8. Communicating with Sellers
Messages with sellers should stay on Tanoooki so we can assist if a dispute arises. We're not responsible for arrangements made outside the platform.
9. Limitation on Buyer Protection
Our baseline protection covers item-not-as-described and non-delivery claims reported within the window above. It does not cover buyer's remorse, minor cosmetic variation disclosed in the listing, or delays caused by customs/carriers once the seller has shipped as described.
